When I walked in I felt like I was at home. I'm blk from STL n there's not many good blk BBQ spots in San Antonio. Yes, at 1st I was excited especially on labor day. But after I ate that plate, my stomach start feeling weird but wasn't tripping. When I woke up this morning it was a differ story. When I arrived to work I couldn't stay off da toilet. Couldn't eat breakfast. Not goin 2 lie, food n da sides tasted old n sour. My coworkers thought I had covid but I told them I ate thee wrong food. People were nice that was working there at skinny blk but honestly...won't be goin back there again. And my kids stomach wasn't feeling good also. PLEASE DONT SERVE OLD FOOD SO NO OTHER CUSTOMERS WONT EXPERIENCE DA SAME THING....THNX

Here in town on Business and wanted some good BQue the folks at the Hotel told me about here.
I got to say it was worth the driver to get there.
Three meat meal with cake and a drink all for less than $20, got to love it.
And yes it is good as it looks.

I’m five months pregnant and all I wanted was a brisket loaded baked potato. This restaurant doesn’t play when it comes to food. You will not be disappointed. The loaded potato could feed 4 adults. It was fantastic. Very nice staff as well. Great place to eat!!!!

I can honestly say that this is some of the worst BBQ I've ever had. The meat was tough the Mac and cheese had to be from a box and my potato salad had gone bad. Not sure enjoy they couldn't smell it. Would not recommend.

This place has great food. Ive had the brisket taco, the sausage, and the ribs. They were delicious. The owner and his employees were friendly and provided good service.

Purchased some rib plate and pork chop sandwich and got to the house. My wife an I were very disappointed her sides beans and potatoes salad were awful beans tasted burnt and ps not good at all and my pork chop sandwich was not good either. P/C tasted like it was not freshly cooked and I know good cooking because I'm a chef

You know BBQ is good when you can eat it with our without the sauce!! I had a craving for brisket and Skinny Black understood the Assignment!! The brisket and Luling sausage was tender and juicy, h had a great smoked flavor, and the Mac n cheese was on point, which is a big deal for me. I usually don't like raw onion, but I even Wanted to eat the ones that came with my meal. My only disappointment (why I'm only giving 4 stars) was with the green beans, but I would go back for everything else!!!

A true gem of a BBQ place.
Visiting from out of town and found this amazing place. Don’t let the outside stop you from going, this is some true BBQ!! I had the 3 meat combo, ribs/chicken/brisket w potato salad and beans. The hardest part was figuring out which I liked best! They even threw in a slice of desert bread that was delicious. The folks that were working there were fun to talk to while I waited for takeout. If you are ever in the area and want some amazing food at a reasonable price you have to swing by!

Great BBQ. Ribs and brisket. Friendly people. Good conversation. One of the best places to stop and enjoy. I will definitely stop here again.

The bbq from here is everything! It tastes like reunion bbq made with love from seasoned hands. On top of the food being phenomenal, the pricing is extremely affordable, generous even. For two 2 meat plates with 2 sides, bead, a piece moist cake and water for each, the price was only a little over $20. My boyfriend thought I spent $40 and wasn't even mad because it was so good. "We will be back for more ribs" he says. This place is definitely worth every cent.
